We just got back from a fun weekend getaway to St. Louis, Missouri! We left early on Friday and drove to St. Louis to visit with our friends, Tyler and Emily. Since we had Silas in tow, we made a few stops for potty and walk breaks. He did GREAT in the car, and it was nice to break up the monotony of the trip!
I’ll recap different parts of the trip in other posts, but today is all about the ANIMALS! We ventured out on Saturday morning to Forest Park where the St. Louis Zoo is located. If you’re ever in St. Louis, you need to visit this zoo because it is FREE!
I’m a HUGE fan of animals, but I’m not a HUGE fan of zoos. I don’t like that the animals are captive, and even with all of the special ‘activities’ and foods they give the animals, it’s nothing like the freedom they would have in the wild. It just makes me sad to see stressed out animals living in tiny little displays (rant over).
We did have a great time seeing all of the critters! Here are a few pictures!
We started out with the reptiles and amphibians:
Cold blooded animals are cute and all, but we headed to the primate house next!
In the second picture above, do you see what I see? The lioness was hanging out up in a tree!
I love big cats! MEOW!
I LOVE GIRAFFES!
I don’t know if you knew… but I have a twin!
Thank you Tyler and Emily for taking us on such a fun trip to the ZOO!
